The heads of government of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States endorsed a common tourism policy at the recent 54th Meeting of the OECS Authority.

The policy will serve as a guide for “collective action” geared to the development of tourism in the OECS Economic Union, as well as the establishment of a regional consultative process in the OECS involving the public and private sector.

The new tourism policy was part of the Growth and Development Strategy for the organization, with leaders urging its speedy completion.

The sub-regional body also set a date for the operation of the OECS Regional Parliamentary Assembly, with a view to inaugurating the assembly by June 18.
