WestJet Is Launching Its First-Ever Flights to Bonaire

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 23, 2020

Canadian leisure carrier WestJet is launching its first-ever flights to the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire in February, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new service will launch Feb. 6, with one weekly flight on Saturday, operating for the tourist season.

WestJet will be operating the flights on Boeing 737 aircraft.

“Tourism Corporation Bonaire is extremely excited about the flight agreement with WestJet. Considering that tourism is the leading and now most resilient economic sector for our island, this is certainly a great asset to the tourism of Bonaire,” said Marjolein Oleana, Business Manager TCB. “Together with WestJet, our team is working hard to prepare marketing activities so we can welcome our Canadian friends to experience, explore and enjoy our authentic Bonaire in February 2021.”

Bonaire is currently open to all travelers with proof of a negative PCR test taken and received within 72 hours before arrival.

“Canadians have been asking to add this diving and windsurfing paradise known for its pristine waters and rich marine life to our network. Bonaire is filled with safe activities for those seeking to getaway this winter and we look forward to connecting guests to the island’s unique and unforgettable hospitality,” said Arved von our Muehlen, WestJet Chief Commercial.
