Swoop to Relaunch Montego Bay, Cancun Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 2, 2020

Canadian low-cost carrier Swoop will be relaunching its service to popular Caribbean destinations including Cancun and Montego Bay, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Swoop will relaunch its operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Oct. 25, with plans to resume flights to a host of destinations including Mexico and Jamaica.

The Toronto-Cancun flights will operate up to five times each week, with service on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Toronto and Montego Bay will also run up to five times each week, with service on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

“Our winter schedule is in response to a growing rebound in travel, as we know travelers are eager to plan their next getaway,” says Charles Duncan, President of Swoop. “We remain committed as ever to making affordable air travel accessible for Canadians who are looking to reconnect with family and friends over the holidays or are looking for a change in scenery this winter.”

Swoop said it had implemented what the company called a “robust” set of measures to safeguard health and safety on its flights.

They include stricter boarding processes for shorter wait times, traveler screening measures, increased sanitization and enforced face masks for the duration of each flight.

“It is time to travel again, and that can be done responsibly and safely,” Duncan said. “We are focusing our efforts on encouraging travel with our ability to provide ultra-low fares to price-sensitive travelers.”

Both the Mexican Caribbean and Jamaica have been open for tourism since earlier this summer.
