All-Inclusive Secrets Cap Cana Reopens in the Dominican Republic

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 16, 2020

The Secrets Cap Cana resort has officially reopened in the Dominican Republic’s most exclusive enclave.

The 457-room all-inclusive resort began welcoming guests again on July 15.

The move comes after the Dominican Republic relaunched its tourism industry on July 1.

The adults-only property has reopened under parent company AMResorts’ new “CleanComplete Verification” health and safety protocols.

Those protocols range from enhanced sanitization across the resort to socially-distacned dining to “express” check-out services, among others.

“Our 360-degree quality, safety and hygiene system takes into account every aspect of resort operations, backed by the highest-level third-party certification,” the company said in a statement. “We will be evolving and innovating our procedures continuously and will share the newest developments as they are implemented.”

Secrets Cap Cana, the Secrets brand’s flagship, joins several other Secrets resorts in the wider Caribbean-Mexico region that have also reopened their doors.

On Aug. 1, Secrets Wild Orchid will be reopening in Jamaica, Caribbean Journal has learned.

That’s along with the highly-anticipated Secrets St Martin, which is set to launch on Oct. 16, according to the company’s Web site.

Secrets Cap Cana is the first of several high-profile Cap Cana resorts to relaunch.

The nearby Sanctuary Cap Cana also reopened on July 15, and Playa’s Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana are slated to open on July 22.
