Turks and Caicos Is Predicting Record-Breaking Arrivals

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 29, 2024

The Turks and Caicos Islands has been one of the most sought-after destinations in the hemisphere since the initial travel reopening during the pandemic — and it’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Turks and Caicos is predicting “record-breaking arrivals” through at least August, according to a report from Experience Turks and Caicos.

In a statement, the destination said it wanted to “reaffirm our status as a premier destination for discerning travelers seeking barefoot luxury and tranquillity.”

In March, Turks and Caicos had the highest hotel occupancy in the Caribbean, standing at 87 percent, according to data provided by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association.

For the second quarter, overseas arrivals are projected to rise by 19 percent compared to the second quarter of 2023, according to the CHTA.

The data comes as the island’s arrival numbers and hotel data continue to outperform much of the broader region, from its luxury resorts like the Shore Club and The Palms to boutique-style stays like the great-value Ports of Call in Grace Bay.

“Our destination’s allure lies in its pristine natural beauty, four-star and Virtuoso-member accommodations, and activities from day trips to our sister islands to immersion in local culture and cuisine at our weekly Fish Fry,” Tourism Minister Josephine Connolly said in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal.
