A New Way to Go Glamping in Costa Rica

Previously open only to groups, Costa Rica’s Kinkára glamping resort has officially opened its doors to individual travelers.

The property, part of the Cayuga Collection of sustainable resorts, is set on 800 acres in the foothills of Costa Rica’s Talamanca mountain range in the southeastern corner of the country.

The property had initially opened in September 2018 exclusively to private groups.

Now Kinkára, which includes a collection of 31 “Lotus Belle” tents, is open to everyone, with amenities like 500-thread cotton linens, high-speed Wi-Fi and solar-powered reading lights, among others.

“We wanted to create an environment and experience that energizes the spirit. One that weaves exquisite cuisine around euphoric adventures and mindful relaxation to delight the senses. To us, jubilation is the key to rejuvenation. We have seen that in our group guests and naturally wanted to extend it to as many travelers as possible,” said David Comfort, co-founder of Kinkára.

Kinkára also has custom-crafted spa-like bath houses, along with an on-site eatery helmed by Chef Kuntal Kumar.
