JetBlue saw a traffic surge at the beginning of the fourth quarter, according to newly-released data from the New York City-based carrier.

JetBlue reported just under 4.06 billion revenue passenger miles in October, which represented a sizable 9.5 percent increase compared to the same month in 2017.

That was accompanied by a 0.5-percentage-point increase in load factor to 82.9 percent and an 8.9 percent increase in available seat miles to 4.89 billion.

That all added up a strong start to the final quarter of 2018 for the carrier.
