The Perfect Sailing Lesson in Anguilla

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 23, 2017

As Anguilla celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, Malliouhana, An Auberge Resort is unveiling new luxury programming for its guests that pays homage to the national sport of sailing.

Guests can now set sail on a private four-hour charter and learn how to navigate ocean waters through sailing instruction on a historical hand-crafted boat, the Tradition.

Malliouhana.

The Tradition was built in 1978 for carrying cargo through the Caribbean– including contraband from St. Barth, where the smuggling trade in alcohol thrived until the 1990s.

In the midst of the instruction, travelers will also snorkel through the island’s many reefs and enjoy an authentic Anguillan picnic lunch with exotic rum tasting.

Finally, guests will finish the day with an evening bonfire and s’mores experience while discovering constellations with the resort telescope and an iPad preloaded with a stargazing app.

Sounds like the perfect sailing lesson.
