A Recipe for a “Caribbean Mule”

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - October 17, 2016 - 9:41 pm

Let’s be honest: Any sun-drenched Caribbean vacation is cause for celebration. And in the Caribbean, we celebrate with rum.

And guests of The Grenadines’ Pink Sands Club can celebrate last week’s official opening of the 26-suite luxury resort with an appropriately festive libation, their signature Caribbean Mule.

Caribbean Mule

Served to your stool in the ocean-facing infinity pool or delivered to your pink (naturally) chaise on the stunning sweep of Godahl Beach, the concoction is made with St. Vincent’s local Sunset Light Rum. Affectionately known simply as “SLR,” the smooth white rum goes perfectly with the mango and passionfruit juice; ginger beer; and lime that comprise the satisfying swig. Squeeze and then drop the passionfruit garnish into if for a refreshing tang, and then enjoy a hint of effervescence from the ginger beer, and a potent punch of “OMG!” delivered by the SLR. It’s (literally) a taste of the Caribbean and a taste of Canouan’s finest new hotel, delivered in every sweet sip.

We’ll drink to that.
