Enterprise Holdings, the world’s largest car rental company, is expanding in the Caribbean.

The company’s Enterprise-Rent-A-Car brand officially began operating in Curacao this week, with operations now underway at the Hato Airport outside Willemstad.

“There’s tremendous growth potential for both corporate and leisure car rental in Latin America,” said Peter A. Smith, vice president of global franchising at the company.

The opening in Curacao is part of the company’s broad regional expansion announced earlier this year.

That saw the debut of new locations in Belize, Honduras, Cancun, Tortola, Tobago, Trinidad and Turks and Caicos.

The company first entered the Caribbean market two years ago.
