Grenada Tourism Is Surging

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 13, 2016 - 12:26 pm

Grenada is seeing continued strong growth in tourist arrivals, the country announced this week.

Preliminary statistics from the first half showed a 10.3 percent increase in arrivals in the first half of 2016.

The United States continues to be the largest source market for Grenada, showing a 44 percent increase in arrivals for the first six months of 2016.

That was followed by the United Kingdom, which showed a 19 percent increase, and Canada, which showed a 10 percent increase.

Grenada has been seeing surging visitor arrivals since 2014, led by two major events: the addition of JetBlue service and the arrival of the new Sandals resort.
