Delta has significantly expanded its service to the Out Islands of the Bahamas.

The carrier launched a new twice-weekly service from Atlanta to Eleuthera and Marsh Harbor, Abaco in the Bahamas.

The company has also increased its service to Georgetown in the Exumas from three times a week to daily service.

The new routes will be flown using 65-seat EV-CJ7 aircraft operated by Expressjet Airlines.

“We continue to expand our presence in the Caribbean to offer customers the most convenient connection options when flying to their favorite tourist destinations,” said Jose “Pepe” Zapata, General Manager for Delta for Central America and Caribbean. “We always listen to our customers and work diligently to meet their expectations by offering new routes, as well as enhanced onboard services to provide them with the best in-flight experience.”

Delta is one of several carriers in what seems to be an increasingly competitive Caribbean market, as carriers like JetBlue ramp up their network expansion in the region.

The airlift competition has also seen American Airlines adding new routes.
