The Great Bay Beach at St Thomas’ Ritz-Carlton resort has gotten bluer.

The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag designation for environmental and conservation efforts, the fifth year in a row that the beach has received the designation.

The beach is one of only two in St Thomas to receive a Blue Flag, which is managed by the Denmark-based Foundation for Environmental Education.

The Blue Flag covers water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management and safety and services.

There are 4,000 Blue Flag sites around the world, with four in the US Virgin Islands.
