Caribbean-Mexico Hotel Construction Pipeline Shows Decline

The Caribbean-Mexico hotel pipeline fell last month, according to the latest STR Construction Pipeline Report.

There were 163 hotels comprising 27,583 rooms under contract in the region last month, a 6.7 percent decrease in rooms under contract compared to September 2014.

That also represented a 17 percent decrease in rooms under construction.

The region reported a total of 11,766 rooms across 64 hotels under construction for the month of September.

Mexico led the region in total number of rooms under construction with 8,645.
