Rum, coffee and straw baskets are classic Caribbean keepsakes but locally produced scents also make evocative souvenirs. Get a noseful of these five fragrances, guaranteed to bring back memories of your tropical trip.

Goombay, Bahamas

This unisex scent from Freeport, Grand Bahama perfumery Fragrance of the Bahamas combines spices including cinnamon and ginger with herbal and floral oils. (2 ounces; $17)

Khus Khus, Jamaica

Vanilla and musk are the top notes of this old-school Jamaican eau de cologne that was created in the 1970s and still endures today. (2 ounces; $27)

2.0, St. Martin

If you can’t join one of Tijon’s one-to-three-hour perfume-mixing classes, pick up a bottle of their 2.0. Citrus top notes (bergamot, lemon) combined with clove, coriander and sandalwood have made it their men’s bestseller. (100ml; $75)

Soleil, St. Lucia

St. Lucia’s Caribbean Perfumes makes seven island-inspired fragrances but I’m a fan of Soleil, which melds fruit, wood and musk notes into one sunshine-y scent. (65ml; $41)

South Water, Bermuda

The Bermuda Perfumery has been handcrafting scents (sold under its Lili Bermuda brand) since 1928. Unisex South Water, made with essences of guava, sea salt and coconut milk, is a personal favorite. (100ml; $65)
