Puerto Rico Is Getting New Nonstop Flights from LaGuardia
The salsa. The mofongo. The Barrilito. Puerto Rico’s vibrant flavors have helped spur the island to a full-fledged travel renaissance in the post-pandemic era, one buoyed by cheap, abundant airlift.
And the island is showing no signs of slowing down in that department: Puerto Rico is getting another nonstop flight this winter, with Frontier Airlines set to kick off a brand-new route between New York’s LaGuardia Airport and San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.
The new service, which launches Dec. 20, will be operating once a week on Saturdays.
It’s a convenient option for New York-area travelers who don’t want to make the trek out to JFK — and want to enjoy what is easily the best airport in New York — the marvelously transformed LaGuardia.
As with just about all of Frontier’s flight launches, the intro fares are very good — as low as $49 one-way, according to the company.
That’s pretty hard to beat for an easy getaway to the Isla del Encanto. Here’s hoping it’s the start of a trend of more Caribbean flights from LGA.
