Celebrity Beyond Has Caribbean Cruises, Iconic Bars, and a Seriously Good Daniel Boulud Eatery

The first thing you need to know about Celebrity Beyond is that it doesn’t feel like a cruise ship at all. It feels like a destination in itself — a place where design, dining, and discovery are seamlessly layered into every corner. From the moment you walk into the soaring Grand Plaza, light cascading from the chandelier above, you understand that this ship isn’t simply about moving between ports. It’s about living well at sea, with experiences that rival anything you’d find on land. I personally sailed on the ship, and I was eminently satisfied with the experience.
The Technical Details
Celebrity Beyond is the third ship in the line’s Edge Series, launched in 2022 and named by godmother Simone Biles in Fort Lauderdale. It measures 1,073 feet in length, with a beam of 128 feet, gross tonnage of 141,420, and space for 3,260 guests at double occupancy. The ship sails at a cruising speed of 22 knots, powered by a design that emphasizes outward-facing spaces and expanded open-air decks. Beyond is also equipped with Starlink high-speed internet, making it one of the most connected ships at sea.
The Basics
Celebrity Beyond is the largest ship in the Edge Series, designed to blur the line between sea and ship. On board you’ll find 32 restaurants, bars, and lounges, from casual bites to fine dining. The signature Magic Carpet — a bright orange, cantilevered bar and lounge platform — glides up and down the ship’s exterior, shifting into everything from a cocktail lounge to a tender platform. The Rooftop Garden brings greenery and live music to the open air, while the Grand Plazaanchors the interior with its soaring chandelier and energy. Add in a reimagined Sunset Bar, multiple pools on the resort deck, and Eden, a three-story venue that fuses dining, entertainment, and design, and you have a ship built as much for discovery on board as off.
The Party Piece: Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud
Among the ship’s 32 restaurants, bars, and lounges, Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud is unforgettable. This isn’t just a specialty restaurant — it’s a story told in flavor. The tasting menu is thoughtful and elegant, and the wine pairing transforms it into something transcendent. I love this restaurant, and I always choose the pairing — it’s where each course becomes a dialogue between chef and vintner, and you get swept up in the conversation.
Experiences You’ll Remember
The wine tasting class is one of those experiences you carry home. It’s intimate, interactive, and led by sommeliers who are both knowledgeable and approachable. You swirl, sip, and laugh, learning to decode flavors in a way that feels relaxed and fun. It’s not a lecture — it’s a journey, and by the end, you’ll never look at a wine list the same way again.
Then there are the other signatures: the Magic Carpet floating platform that hovers above the sea, the Sunset Bar where every evening turns into a celebration, the Rooftop Garden alive with greenery and music. You’re never far from a new perspective — of the ocean, of yourself, of what travel can be.
Where It Sails in the Caribbean
Celebrity Beyond spends much of the winter weaving through the Caribbean, with seven-night itineraries that feel like a curated island-hopping escape. You’ll find the ship calling on favorites like St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Tortola, Puerto Plata, Antigua, San Juan, and Grand Cayman, often paired with stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean Group’s private island. Some itineraries head further south toward Belize and Jamaica, giving you a mix of marquee ports and quieter corners. It’s the kind of schedule that lets you wake up to a new horizon every morning — turquoise bays, colonial streets, or palm-lined beaches, all framed by the comforts of Beyond waiting back at the pier.
A Place for Families Too
Beyond its reputation as a sophisticated, design-forward ship, Celebrity Beyond actually delivers for families. The kids’ programs are vibrant, flexible, and surprisingly creative — the kind of spaces where children can explore, learn, and make friends while parents carve out their own adventures. It’s a ship where you can balance adult indulgence with family connection, without compromise. I brought my kids on this ship, and they actually requested to go to the kids; club every day. It was that good. But what’s great is that Celebrity isn’t a family-first brand — other guests will treat your kids like a welcome novelty, rather than an annoyance.
One Thing to Know
The only thing I felt was a waste was booking a room in Concierge Class — it really didn’t offer anything I needed — the traditional service is good enough, and if you want a reservation, you can call yourself. It really wasn’t a helpful add-on and definitely not worth the money.
The Best Way to Experience The Retreat
For those who want the ship at its most exclusive, The Retreat is a private world within Beyond. It includes suite accommodations, a private sundeck, lounge, and Luminae, the dedicated restaurant where the menus are designed by Daniel Boulud himself. Staying in The Retreat is like unlocking another layer of the ship — quieter, more personalized, with the best of Celebrity’s hospitality focused entirely on you. If you’re considering Beyond, this is the way to take the experience even further.
How to Sail
Celebrity Beyond offers a variety of Caribbean itineraries, with fares starting from around $666 per person including taxes and fees. Options range from four-night escapes to weeklong journeys through the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
