KLM Is Expanding Its Aruba Flights This Winter
Aruba is getting a significant boost in European airlift this winter. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is adding two more weekly flights between Amsterdam and Aruba via Bonaire, Caribbean Journal has learned. The expanded schedule will run from Dec. 15, 2025 through March 27, 2026, increasing KLM’s total frequency to Aruba to nine weekly flights for the winter season — a historic high for the route.
The new service will operate on Fridays and Sundays using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, each with a capacity of 264 seats. That translates to nearly 8,000 additional seats this winter, a 9 percent year-over-year increase in capacity from Europe.
“This reflects years of collaboration with our airline and tourism partners,” said Jo-Anne Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport Authority. “Adding two more flights per week from Amsterdam—one of Europe’s key hubs—strengthens Aruba’s position in the European market and offers travelers more choice and flexibility.”
Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport is a critical transatlantic gateway, providing connections from markets across the continent including the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Italy, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.
The expanded service is the result of a joint initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, and Labor of Aruba, the Aruba Tourism Authority, Aruba Airport Authority, and Bonaire International Airport — a partnership aimed at strengthening long-term regional connectivity.
It’s another sign of Aruba’s growing importance as a winter destination for European travelers, and a milestone in the island’s ongoing airlift strategy
