The British Virgin Islands are once again proving why they’re one of the world’s premier sailing destinations.

This year, the BVI is hosting a robust calendar of sailing events that capture the spirit, sport, and soul of the Caribbean on the water.

At the heart of the action is the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival, a week-long celebration that draws top-tier sailors and enthusiasts from around the globe. With its signature blend of serious competition and laid-back island culture, it’s one of the most anticipated events on the Caribbean regatta circuit.

Also making waves is the Sweethearts of the Caribbean Regatta, a unique, all-women sailing event that celebrates and empowers female sailors. The regatta has become a standout for promoting inclusivity and spotlighting women in a traditionally male-dominated sport.

For those who appreciate tradition, the 48th Annual Foxy’s Wooden Boat Regatta is a must. Set in the iconic backdrop of Jost Van Dyke (one of our favorite little islands in the whole region), this beloved event showcases the BVI’s rich maritime heritage through classic wooden boat craftsmanship and time-honored sailing techniques — all under the watchful eye of Foxy himself.

High-performance racing comes to the forefront with the Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series Caribbean Championship, where elite competitors converge for fast-paced, high-stakes competition. The series continues to elevate the region’s status on the global racing stage.

Beyond the headline events, the BVI also champions the future of the sport through numerous local and youth sailing programs. These grassroots efforts are cultivating the next generation of Caribbean sailors and deepening the community’s connection to the sea.

From seasoned racers to first-time sailors, there’s something for everyone in the BVI’s 2025 sailing season — and plenty of wind in the sails for what’s shaping up to be an unforgettable year on the water.
