Anguilla has been working to position itself as a year-round Caribbean destination. If you’ve been to the island, you understand why — the beaches, the innumerable high-quality restaurants, the beach bars, the hotels. And now the island has a new year-round flight.

Regional carrier Cape Air has officially launched its new flights from St Thomas to Anguilla, with service running every day of the week.

It’s a big boost for the island, connecting Anguilla with the broad number of flights from the mainland flights that come to St Thomas. (Particularly on JetBlue, which has a strong relationship with Cape Air that includes a codeshare agreement and loyalty points).

“Cape Air has served us well in the past and we are confident that the excellent service that they provide will continue,” said Anguilla Tourism Minister Haydn Hughes. “The ties between Anguilla and the USVI are deep and there is no doubt that this service will be welcomed by the Anguillians in the diaspora and those who wish to visit our respective destinations.”

The move also continues to cement St Thomas’ growing position as a regional air hub, something local officials have been working to develop.

What about cost?

Right now, if you book an itinerary for the second week of November the flights run around $663.10 for round-trip nonstop flights.

It’s a bit more elegant, the on-board activities are outstanding (make sure you try a wine-tasting) and the food is great, too.  But the […]
