LIAT Is Launching Flights to Four More Caribbean Islands

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 1, 2024 - 2:39 pm

The newly-reborn LIAT is adding new nonstop routes to four more Caribbean islands, Caribbean Journal has learned.

LIAT 20, a reinvigoration of the former regional carrier, is adding new routes to St Kitts and Grenada, Barbados and Saint Lucia.

That comes after LIAT already kicked off its return with its inaugural flight between Antigua and Dominica.

“We are committed to making island-hopping more accessible and enjoyable for all,” the company said in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal this week.

The biggest question travelers have is, unsurprisingly, what these flights cost.

LIAT 20 says it’s offering a Caribbean vacation for “$99 plus taxes.”

So what does that mean?

That’s a one-way fare. For a sample-round-trip fare, with taxes, that amounts to about $377.75.

CJ Expert Take: The new LIAT will face the same challenges the old one did: high intra-regional air taxes. But a new team, a new energy and new strategies could help propel the carrier to success. We’re all hoping that’s the case, with the region’s desperate need for solid, reliable intra-Caribbean flights.
