WestJet Is Coming Back to Bonaire for a Second Season

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 15, 2024

The newest gateway for Canadian travelers to the Dutch Caribbean is coming back again for a second season this upcoming winter, Caribbean Journal has learned.

WestJet, which kicked off its first-ever flights between Toronto and Bonaire last year, has announced that it will be returning to the island for a second season beginning in December.

Effective Dec. 10, 2024, WestJet will be operating weekly flights, with the outbound flight to Bonaire on Tuesdays and the return flight to Toronto on Wednesdays.

That’s a bit earlier than the route started last year, a sign of increased demand for the destination out of the Canadian market.

The route will run through April 30, 2025.

Tourism Corporation Bonaire CEO Miles Mercera told Caribbean Journal that he was “excited about continuing our successful  partnership with WestJet for another season of flights.”

Last year’s WestJet flight helped buoy the destination to record-breaking visitor numbers in 2023, according to TCB data.

Are you planning to fly from Toronto Bonaire? The flight takes around 5 hours.
