In Dominica, A New Kind of Luxury Family Vacation

By: Dana Niland - March 22, 2024

It’s always been one of the most romantic resorts: the renowned Secret Bay resort in Dominica, a luxe villa resort tucked away in the rainforest.

But thanks to a collection of new rooms, Secret Bay is making itself accessible to another segment: families and groups.

Because if you’re traveling with kids — or taking a multi-generational trip, you need an extra degree ofspace. For luxury travelers, that’s sometimes a difficult proposition.

But the Caribbean’s newest family villas are the recipe for the perfect family vacation: the new Ti-Fey+ Villas at Dominica’s ultra-luxe Secret Bay resort.

The new villas, which are now taking reservations for stays beginning Nov. 1, are three-story, 2.5-bedroom designed precisely with families in mind.

The villas are “fashionable treehouses,” as the resort descries them, with almost 2,800 interior square feet, floor-to-ceiling glass walls and private plunge pools, outdoor rain showers and chef’s kitchens.

The villas are reached by the resort’s brand-new funicular, which can ferry guests up and down the cliffside property.

“The original Ti-Fèy is one of our most popular villas and now the new Ti-Fèy+, with the added square footage, including an additional bedroom with 2 Full beds and en-suite bathroom, will give those seeking a Caribbean vacation home more options beyond our one-bedroom villas and multi-villa estates,” said Gregor Nassief, proprietor of Secret Bay and The Residences at Secret Bay, and Chairman and CEO of GEMS Holdings Limited.  “Secret Bay is all about reconnecting with nature and loved ones, and these new villas give friends and families an opportunity to create lifelong memories.”

Right now, Secret Bay is offering a special 30 percent discount on villa stays of five nights or more, a package that includes a four-course welcome dinner, a complimentary Indian River tour for up to five people and a $200 resort credit on experiences.

That’s along with signature inclusions like a dedicated villa host and daily turndown.

It’s a unique way for groups to experience one of the Caribbean’s most iconic resorts.
