Ambergris Caye, Belize Has a Sleek New Hotel With a Rooftop Pool

By: Alexander Britell - February 23, 2024

Belize’s beloved Ambergris Caye has just welcomed a brand-new hotel to the island: the Watermark Belize, part of the growing Muy’Ono portfolio of hotels.

The new hotel is set in the heart of bustling San Pedro, the country’s most popular beach destination (and the Caribbean’s capital of overwater bars, too). The 70-room hotel is set at the northern end of town near the Tres Cocos resort area.

Ross range from studios to two-bedroom suites, with every accommodation including its own fridge and free Wi-Fi.

“We’re thrilled to welcome The Watermark Belize Hotel into the Muy’Ono Resorts family,” says Cortney Lebens, CEO at Muy’Ono Resorts. “The Watermark is a unique gem offering comfortable accommodations, exceptional dining, a scenic rooftop pool, and proximity to northern Belize adventures. Its blend of modern and authentic Belizean charm enriches the San Pedro community. This partnership reflects our commitment to redefining hospitality standards, promising unforgettable moments for our guests at The Watermark.”

It’s the newest Belize addition for Muy’Ono, which has 10 properties across the Central American country, ranging from private-island hotels to rainforest resorts (including the rainforest-set Copal Tree Lodge, home to Belize’s famous Copalli rum).

So what’s on offer?

The Watermark has a pair of dining concepts: Gusto’s, a Mediterranean-accented eatery, along with its centerpiece — and the one guests and other San Pedro travelers will be making a beeline for – the Skyview Rooftop Lounge, set along side one of the town’s only rooftop pools.

Other amenities include a gym, a flex-use event venue and in-house golf cart rentals.
