Jamaica’s government is set to roll out its Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme (JEEP) before the end of the current financial year on March 31, according to Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips.

At least $46.6 million USD has been identified to fund the plan. The funding would come from the “reorientation of expenditure” from other projects like the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme, Phillips said.

According Phillips, Works Minister Dr Omar Davies will explain the details of the plan “and its implementation schedule” to Parliament.

The plan should extend for more than one year, Phillips said.
