Caribbean Airlines is back in Venezuela.

Caribbean Airlines has resumed its long-dormant route between Trinidad and Caracas Venezuela, repairing the air connection between the two neighboring countries connected by the Caribbean Sea.

For now, flight service between Port of Spain and Caracas will be operating once weekly on Saturdays, although the company says that will likely become more frequent “later on.”

Both Port of Spain-Caracas and Caracas-Port of Spain flights operate on the same day.

The relaunch comes as Caribbean Airlines is on a renewed expansion push in the region, particularly in the Eastern Caribbean.

“We are excited to resume our operations to Caracas and expand our network to the Eastern Caribbean,” said Garvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines. “Our passengers have been eagerly awaiting the restart of the Caracas route and the overall expansion of our network, and we are thrilled to meet their expectations. This is a testament to our commitment to providing travellers with more options and improved connectivity. We believe these developments will enhance the travel experience for our customers and bring more economic benefits to the region.”

The Trinidad-based carrier recently added four new ATR aircraft to its fleet.

In a statement, Venezuela’s Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago said he was “delighted that Caribbean Airlines has restarted these non-stop flights between Caracas and Trinidad and Tobago.”

“It will be very important for trade and the movement of people,” he said. “I believe that this expansion will enhance the travel experience when persons fly between our countries, and I look forward to increase frequency in the coming months.”
