EL AL Is Adding New Caribbean Destinations Through a Growing Virgin Atlantic Partnership
Travelers flying from Israel now have a new way to reach some of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations.
EL AL has expanded its partnership with Virgin Atlantic, adding new Caribbean destinations through London Heathrow Airport as part of its growing codeshare network.
The expansion adds connections to Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, combining EL AL flights to London with onward Virgin Atlantic service to the Caribbean.
The move significantly broadens EL AL’s Caribbean reach through Heathrow, one of the region’s most important international gateways. Virgin Atlantic operates an extensive network from London to the Caribbean, particularly across the Eastern Caribbean, giving EL AL customers additional one-ticket options to destinations that previously required more complex itineraries.
Among the destinations now included in the partnership are Montego Bay in Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, adding a mix of established tourism hubs and rapidly growing Caribbean markets.
The expansion also brings new benefits for members of EL AL’s Matmid Frequent Flyer program. Travelers will be able to earn Points and Diamonds on eligible codeshare flights operated under the LY flight code, provided the ticket number begins with 114.
The new destinations join a Caribbean region that continues to see strong demand from international travelers, particularly for winter sun vacations and longer leisure trips. Barbados, Antigua and Jamaica remain among the Caribbean’s most popular destinations for European visitors, while Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have attracted growing attention in recent years thanks to new hotels, expanded airlift and increased investment in tourism infrastructure.
For travelers departing Israel, the partnership creates a broader Caribbean network through a single European connection point. With the addition of Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, EL AL customers now have access to more of the Caribbean through Virgin Atlantic’s Heathrow hub while continuing to earn rewards through the Matmid program on eligible itineraries.
