Rixos is heading to Cancún. The all-inclusive luxury brand is planning to open Rixos Cancún in late 2026, adding a new name to the Mexican Caribbean’s crowded top tier of resort openings.

The resort is slated to have 345 rooms and suites, set along Cancún’s Hotel Zone, and will mark one of the brand’s most high-profile entries in the region. Rixos is known globally for large, experience-heavy resorts that combine dining, entertainment, sports and wellness under a single all-inclusive concept.

What the Resort Will Include

Plans for Rixos Cancún call for a wide-ranging resort experience built around food, activity and entertainment. Multiple dining venues are expected, with an emphasis on variety and immersive culinary programming rather than a single signature restaurant. Live entertainment will be part of the daily schedule, alongside organized sports and fitness activities designed to keep guests active throughout their stay.

A full spa and wellness component is also central to the project. The resort will feature what it describes as sensory spa experiences and wellness journeys, positioning the property as a place for both high-energy days and slower recovery time between beach, pool and dining.

A Family-Focused Design

Rixos Cancún is being designed with families firmly in mind. Dedicated facilities for children and teenagers will give younger guests their own programming and spaces, a key factor for travelers booking longer stays or traveling in multi-generational groups. The resort’s room and suite mix is intended to support this, with accommodations suited for couples, families and larger parties.

Why It Matters for Cancún

Cancún continues to see strong development interest as travelers look for all-inclusive resorts that offer more than just beach access and buffet dining. New properties increasingly compete on entertainment depth, wellness offerings and structured daily programming. Rixos Cancún enters the market with a model built around that exact formula.

With its late-2026 opening timeline, the resort joins a pipeline of major projects reshaping the Hotel Zone’s luxury landscape. For travelers planning ahead, Rixos Cancún adds another option for a resort stay that combines beach access with a tightly programmed, resort-wide experience.

Caribbean Journal first reported Rixos’ plans last year.
