St Maarten Airport Opens New Private Jet Terminal

Princess Juliana International Airport has officially opened its new terminal building for private jet passengers, adding a major new chapter to its evolution as one of the Caribbean’s premier aviation hubs.
The unveiling took place on Friday, marking the latest milestone following the reopening of the main terminal in 2024. The new standalone facility is designed to elevate the experience for private jet travelers, offering a modern, exclusive space that matches the airport’s rapid growth and expanding high-end clientele.
SXM has recorded consistent double-digit growth in recent years, and airport officials say the new terminal strengthens its position as a leading gateway for private aviation in the region. The airport serves as a crucial connector for nearby islands including Saba, Statia, St Barth, Anguilla, Dominica, Nevis, and Tortola — routes that depend heavily on business aviation and charter traffic.
Strategic partnerships with ExecuJet and Signature Aviation continue to play a central role in that network. Both companies will support operations at the new terminal as SXM works to expand capacity and premium offerings for its growing base of international travelers.
Airport leadership emphasized the teamwork behind the project, thanking internal staff, external contractors, and especially designer Nathalie Lambriex, whose interior and design oversight shaped the terminal’s contemporary, luxurious feel.
“With this exclusive terminal for private jet passengers, SXM sets a new standard for private aviation in the region,” said Michael Cleaver, CEO and President of Princess Juliana International Airport. “We are proud to offer an experience that reflects the elegance and ambition of our passengers and our island.”
The new terminal marks an “important step forward for private aviation in the region,” said Atlantic Aviation Chief Commercial Officer John Redcay.
