Jake’s in Treasure Beach is entering a new stage of its comeback after weathering two hurricanes in the span of a year, having already completed a major restoration following last year’s Hurricane Beryl.

The property has begun a phased return, with one of its most beloved anchors already back in operation: Jack Sprat, the iconic beachfront restaurant, has officially reopened and is once again serving the community and visiting travelers.

Hotel representatives say that approximately 75 percent of rooms will be fully operational by Dec. 18 as ongoing restoration and clean-up continue across the grounds. Additional rooms and guest spaces will return in the weeks ahead as the property works methodically to bring its full experience back online.

For travelers planning visits to Treasure Beach this winter, the hotel says to expect visible, steady progress throughout the season. The reopening of Jack Sprat — and the approaching return of most accommodations — marks another significant step forward for one of Jamaica’s most beloved boutique escapes as it rebuilds yet again and prepares to welcome guests back to the south coast.

Jakes is one of a growing number of hotels in Jamaica planning to reopen for tourism in mid-to-late December as the island plans a tourism relaunch.
