This Legendary Bermuda Resort Is Getting a $550M Makeover, With Plans for a 2026 Relaunch
Bermuda’s landmark Fairmont Southampton resort is undergoing a USD $550 million redevelopment, with plans to reopen in spring 2026.
\The project is one of the island’s largest hospitality investments to date, seen as a signal of renewed confidence in Bermuda’s luxury tourism sector.
The rebuild includes new guest rooms, reimagined lobby and reception areas, updated meeting and event spaces, and a refreshed collection of the resort’s well-known dining outlets.
The Beach Club is also being redesigned, with a new grill and resort-style pool overlooking the south shore.
Developers say the project is being designed to meet growing demand for high-end and long-stay travel. Alongside the hotel renovation, new luxury residences are being added to the property — expanding the Fairmont Southampton into a mixed-use resort and residential complex.
When complete, the reopening is expected to play a central role in Bermuda’s broader tourism recovery and real estate growth.
It’s been a long awaited return — the revamp first broke ground back in 2024.
