One of the most anticipated resorts in the Dominican Republic has now held its grand opening.

The new resort has joined the Dominican Republic’s growing luxury map. The Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton has held its grand opening on the island’s northeast coast — the latest addition to Miches, one of the country’s fastest-emerging destinations.

The property had been open in its first phase since this summer.

Set on a broad stretch of coconut-fringed beach overlooking the Bay of Samaná, the USD $225 million project brings 500 contemporary rooms and suites, several new restaurants and bars, and a sprawling beachfront pool to a quiet corner of the Dominican Republic that’s quickly attracting attention from major brands.

At the opening ceremony, President Luis Abinader called Miches “a reality of national tourism development,” pointing to the area’s growth through public–private investment.

The project, developed by Zemi Hotels & Resorts with financing from Banreservas, has created more than 5,000 jobs and continues a broader wave of investment across the country’s northeast.

Hilton executives called the opening a key step in the company’s regional expansion, describing the resort as a blend of contemporary design and Dominican character, with architecture inspired by the island’s Taíno heritage.

The launch also underscores Miches’ growing momentum as a tourism hub.

Once a quiet fishing village, it’s now home to several new luxury developments — and is emerging as one of the Dominican Republic’s most promising new coastal escapes.
