Cunard to Debut “Come From Away” at Sea on Queen Elizabeth’s First Caribbean Voyage

When Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth sets sail for her maiden Caribbean season on Oct. 16, 2025, she will be carrying more than guests and grandeur. For the first time ever, the Tony and Olivier Award–winning musical Come From Away will take the stage at sea — a milestone partnership between Cunard and Music Theatre International.
The production arrives as the heartwarming story celebrates its 10th anniversary, bringing with it a decade’s worth of standing ovations and global acclaim. Written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the show is based on the remarkable true story of the 6,579 airline passengers unexpectedly grounded in Newfoundland in the wake of 9/11 — and the small community that welcomed them with open arms.
“Come From Away resonates deeply with audiences, celebrating compassion and connection — values that we share at Cunard,” said Katie McAlister, President of Cunard. “We are incredibly passionate about the power of timeless storytelling, and our long-standing affiliation with London’s West End and Broadway in New York ensures that unparalleled entertainment is at the heart of the Cunard experience.”
A Show with a Global Legacy
Over the last decade, Come From Away has captivated audiences from Broadway to the West End, winning multiple awards and touching hearts across continents. Its arrival on Queen Elizabeth reflects Cunard’s commitment to curating extraordinary cultural experiences at sea.
Producer John Brant underscored the show’s enduring impact: “Even after ten years, it’s still incredible to see the effect this story has on people. Now more than ever, it’s important to gather friends and family to see it together, with the hope that it inspires them to find common ground in their lives.”
An Exclusive Production at Sea
On board, the show will be performed in the ship’s Royal Court Theatre, presented twice per voyage with matinee and evening performances. Specially crafted for the stage at sea, this exclusive version runs one hour and 40 minutes, featuring a 12-member ensemble and the same stirring blend of music, storytelling and humanity that has defined the production since its debut.
For many, the chance to experience Come From Away in the Caribbean — amid ocean views and the elegance of Cunard — will add a new layer of resonance to a story that has always been about generosity, resilience and hope.
