This Resort in Nassau Is Hosting the Ultimate Fantasy Football Weekend — With ESPN Celebs, Draft Cabana Parties, and a Beach Combine
You can draft from your buddy’s garage. You can draft in your living room, surrounded by pizza boxes and cheap beer. Or — this August — you can draft in paradise.
Fantasy Football Ultimate Draft Weekend is back at Baha Mar.
Set for August 21–24, 2025, the four-day event is a dream come true for football fans: a tropical escape that blends fantasy football obsession with luxury resort living, complete with ESPN hosts, combine-style competitions on the sand, rum and cigar parties, and live cabana drafts under the Bahamian sun.
Hosted at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, the experience is powered by ESPN Experiences and now in its second year — and it’s part of a growing movement among Caribbean resorts to turn niche passions into immersive vacation programs — and a reminder of the growing importance of The Bahamas as a sports tourism destination.
Draft Day, Reimagined
The weekend kicks off with a Thursday welcome reception before diving into a full slate of fantasy-meets-vacation events: analyst-led draft strategy sessions, cocktail hours, and a beachside Draft Combine where guests can test their skills before making their picks.
And then there’s the draft itself — not in a basement, but in a private poolside cabana, drink in hand, with the Atlantic Ocean just a few steps away.
Throughout the weekend, guests will rub shoulders with ESPN talent, join exclusive dinners, and wind down with late-night cigar and rum tastings — all while staying at one of the Bahamas’ most luxurious resorts.
Two Ways to Play
Guests can choose between two packages:
The Regular Package includes three nights in a standard room at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, plus access to the welcome reception, beach combine, cocktail hour, and the live draft party.
The VIP Draft Package ups the ante with a suite stay, round-trip airport transportation, exclusive access to a talent dinner, reserved cabanas for the draft, and preferred seating and activity times.
Pricing begins at $450++ per night for a three-night stay.
Paradise for the Sports-Obsessed
For groups of friends looking to take the annual draft weekend to the next level — especially those coming from the East Coast — the location is part of the appeal. Nassau is just an hour from South Florida and under three hours from New York, making it an easy escape with a serious upgrade in scenery.
It’s the kind of trip that turns the fantasy into a full-on reality: warm Caribbean nights, beachfront strategy sessions, and a draft you’ll never forget.
And with resorts like Baha Mar tailoring experiences to specific interests — from fantasy football to culinary and wellness events — there’s a growing shift in the Caribbean: curated travel designed for passion-driven communities, not just sun seekers.
