The CHTA IS Bringing CHIEF and Taste of the Caribbean to Barbados
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association has officially announced the return of two of the region’s most anticipated hospitality events: the Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) and Taste of the Caribbean.
Both events will take place from November 16–18, 2025, at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort, bringing together leaders, innovators, and rising talent from across the region’s tourism and culinary sectors.
As cornerstone programs in CHTA’s professional development platform, CHIEF and Taste of the Caribbean are designed to foster collaboration, showcase innovation, and celebrate the culture and creativity that continue to define Caribbean tourism.
This year’s CHIEF theme, “Innovating Caribbean Tourism for a Disrupted World: Adapting with Purpose, Leading with People, Planning for Permanence,” will shape a packed agenda of immersive workshops and strategy sessions. A lineup of regional and international thought leaders—soon to be announced—will guide participants through practical tools and real-world solutions for today’s most pressing industry challenges.
“From culinary trends to operational strategy, CHIEF attendees gain practical tools to elevate their businesses and careers across the Caribbean,” said CHTA CEO Vanessa Ledesma in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “This year’s workshops will dive even deeper, equipping participants with actionable insights from some of the industry’s most dynamic voices, making CHIEF a must-attend for forward-thinking professionals.”
CHIEF 2025 will also introduce a new Linkages Showcase, connecting local and regional suppliers with hotels, resorts, and tourism-related businesses. The marketplace will emphasize Caribbean sourcing and business collaboration, building on CHTA’s partnership with the Global Alliance for Innovation in Tourism (GAIN). Hospitality tech will also take center stage, with new showcases and providers offering attendees a firsthand look at the tools reshaping the future of the industry.
Running alongside CHIEF, Taste of the Caribbean will return with its high-energy culinary competitions, celebrating the region’s flavors and talent. The event will feature contests in four main categories: Caribbean Chef of the Year, Junior Chef, Bartender, and Pastry Chef, offering competitors both recognition and professional development opportunities.
