Anguilla’s New Airport Terminal Should Be Finished By the Fall, Officials Say
The highly-anticipated new airport terminal in Anguilla is “expected” to be completed by this fall, according to the island’s local tourism officials.
The Anguilla Tourist Board says the project’s new building should be finished in the fourth quarter.
That will be joined by an extension of the airport’s runway.
Anguilla now has its first-ever nonstop service from the United States, an American Airlines route that launched back in 2021, along with key local routes like Tradewind’s nonstop service out of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
With that growth comes a need for more capacity and, more importantly, a better visitor experience, and that’s precisely the plan for the project.
The expected completion comes as Anguilla reports a very strong summer season, one that included the highest June arrivals in the island’s history — as Anguilla works to position itself as a full-fledged year-round destination, as Caribbean Journal reported.
