Nassau Is the Caribbean’s Most Popular Cruise Port. It Just Set Another All-Time Record.
It’s the most popular, most-visited cruise port in the Caribbean: Nassau Cruise Port, the hub in the Bahamian capital.
And after a record-breaking year in 2023, the port just did it again, Caribbean Journal has learned.
Nassau Cruise Port just set an all-time record again, with 5.6 million cruise visitors in 2024.
That followed a total of 4.4 million in 2023.
“We are incredibly proud to reach this significant milestone for the second year in a row,” said Mike Maura, Jr., CEO of Nassau Cruise Port, in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our talented team, our valued partners, and the Bahamian people. We could not have reached this point without the unwavering support of our stakeholders, including the Government of The Bahamas, our cruise line partners, local businesses, and the community at large. Together, we are shaping the future of Bahamian tourism, and I am excited to see the continued growth of Nassau Cruise Port as a gateway to The Bahamas and a source of opportunity for all.”
The continued growth comes after the massive redevelopment of the port completed in 2023 that included a new walkable layout and even a Junkanoo museum, in a nod to the country’s most famous art form.
There are more upgrades planned, from new facilities to help transport guests across the island to new dining concepts.
“Our success story is far from over,” Maura, Jr. said. “The future promises even more growth for The Bahamas and its residents, and more incredible Authentically Bahamian experiences for our visitors from around the world.”
