Accor Is Opening Its New Pullman Hotel on This Caribbean Island
Rainforests. Beaches. Island-hopping. Haute cuisine. Rum. It remains one of the best-kept secrets in the Caribbean: the French Caribbean archipelago of Guadeloupe, tucked in the heart of the Eastern Caribbean between Antigua and Dominica.
We’ve always loved visiting the destination, from the “main” islands of Basse-Terre (go for the volcanoes and the rum) to the charming little islets of Les Saintes.
What Guadeloupe doesn’t have is a ton of hotels — and it’s been quite a while since a new-build hotel opened there. But that’s changing this year, with hotel giant Accor opening its first hotel in the Caribbean in years, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The company is debuting its Pullman brand on the island of Grande Terre in Guadeloupe in mid-2025, Accor confirmed.
The 102-room Pullman Royal Key Wellness Resort will be set in Le Moule (a town most famous for the Rhum Damoiseau brand), with a spa focus and a locally-inspired aesthetic, according to the company.
Amenities will include a fitness center, a destination wellness cater and a pool.
It’s in a great location in Grande Terre, which is filled with some of Guadeloupes most popular travel hotspots, from the beach town of Le Gosier (and it’s lovable little offshore island, Ilet du Gosier) to Sainte-Anne, a foodie getaway that has arguably the top food truck scene in the whole Caribbean.
So what about getting to Guadeloupe?
Its main airport in the capital of Pointe a Pitre has regularly scheduled service from the United States on two airlines: American Airlines, which flies with some frequency from Miami, and Air France, which also flies from Miami, although only a few days a week.
The American Airlines-Guadeloupe flights are priced at about $712 roundtrip right now, according to Google Flights.
