Maybe you’re looking for an active getaway. Well, there’s the new Vida resort, where you can savor the height of eco-adventure and spend your days on everything from core sculpting to sunrise kiteboarding.

Or perhaps it’s a foodie-focused journey through one of the Caribbean’s true culinary capitals, from the new-look Blue by Eric Ripert to the dynamic flavors of the Rankins Jerk Center.

If it’s a classic beach getaway, Grand Cayman has you covered, too, whether you’re lazing on the world-famous Seven Mile Beach or venturing out to the pristine white sands of the East End.

That’s all without mentioning Camana Bay, the island’s full-fledged town square, a place that has become one of the Caribbean’s most complete retail and entertainment destinations.

The point is, Grand Cayman does everything well, no matter what kind of Caribbean vacation you’re looking for, all delivered with its unique blend of sophistication, luxury and laid-back cool.

And if you’re planning a vacation to Grand Cayman, now’s the time to do it, because a host of hotels and resorts on the island are making a big push for travel now through the winter.

That includes a free fourth night at villas like the Breezy Bay; free fifth nights at hotels like the beloved Grand Caymanian Resort (rates at $265 per night)

At the aforementioned Vida (rates starting at $619), you can get a free night if you book four or six consecutive nights; and the Westin Grand Cayman is offering 20 percent discounts on stays of five nights or more — along with a $100 resort credit (rates starting at $548).

One of the East End’s top resorts, the Wyndham Reef Resort, is giving travelers up to 35 percent off room rates if you book four or more nights. That comes with an additional $125 food and beverage credit.

In all, 17 different Grand Cayman properties have special programs for the current shoulder season, most of which run through the middle of December.

It’s another compelling reason to visit Grand Cayman in a time of year that we particularly love in the Caribbean — when things across the region are a little bit less crowded and you have a little bit more of the island to yourself.

Even better? It’s easier than ever to visit Grand Cayman and its outstanding Owen Roberts International Airport, from extra JetBlue flights out of the Northeast to new Southwest Airlines flights that kicked off over the summer.

American Airlines is also adding new flights early this winter.

If you’re planning the getaway, the best place to start is by heading for Cayman Islands Tourism.
