Why Foodies Need to Visit St Kitts Next Month

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 12, 2024 - 2:56 pm

Cooking competitions, wine tastings and even a Grill Fest. If you’re a foodie, one Caribbean destination has to be on your radar next month: the island of St Kitts.

The Eastern Caribbean destination kicks off its beloved St Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week on July 11, with the culinary festivities running July 11-21.

And the gourmet calendar is full of things to do and taste, from the “Cook, Sip and Glamp” competition at the Park Hyatt St Kitts — when participants can try their hand at cooking in a clamping setting on the Park Hyatt lawn — to special menus across the island featuring this year’s focus ingredient: papaya.

The Cook, Sip and Glamp event.

And then there’s the Grill Fest on July 20, which brings together competitors for grilling battles in everything from seafood to poultry to vegetables, joined by live music family-friendly activities and a host of local arts and crafts vendors, too.

This year’s Grill Fest comes with renowned Chef Nadege Fleurimond, who will be serving as celebrity judge for the event.
