It’s About to Get Easier to Fly to Saint Lucia

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 20, 2024

American Airlines is expanding its service to Saint Lucia, in response to rising demand.

The airline will reintroduce nonstop Saturday-only service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Saint Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport, starting December 7, 2024.

“We are thrilled to welcome American Airlines’ expanded service, providing more opportunities for

travelers to immerse themselves in the splendor of Saint Lucia,” said Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Saint Lucia’s Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information. “This reintroduction of services will adequately complement the significant room renovations already completed and new ones soon to be available.”

This service will offer travelers enhanced flexibility and convenience during the destination’s peak winter tourism season, officials said.

The flight is already available for purchase through American’s website and mobile app.

In a statement provided to Caribbean Journal, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority said the expansion marks a “significant step forward in enhancing connectivity and accessibility to the destination, giving visitors and the diaspora the opportunity to have breakfast in New York and lunch in Saint Lucia.”
