American Airlines’ newest route to the Caribbean is expanding this winter, with the popular Miami-Tortola route adding more daily flights.

From Jan. 8 to April 3, American Airlines will be expanding to three daily flights every Saturday, the carrier announced.

American will continue to operate the service on Embraer E175 aircraft, in keeping with the smaller runway at Tortola’s Beef Island Airport.

Since launching this summer, the Miami-Tortola flight, the first of its kind in the modern era, has been a significant hit as the only nonstop connection between the United States and the British Virgin Islands.
