JetBlue Is Adding More Flights to Aruba

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 31, 2023 - 6:06 pm

The Dutch Caribbean’s most popular destination is getting a big boost from JetBlue this upcoming winter season, Caribbean Journal has learned.

New York City-based JetBlue is ramping up its flights to Aruba, already the fifth-largest market for the company in the Caribbean.

This winter, JetBlue will be operating a total of nine daily flights from the Northeast to the Dutch Caribbean island, up from six last winter, according to Aruba Airport.

That comprises flights from Boston, Newark and John F. Kennedy in New York. (JetBlue recently relaunched the Newark-Aruba route).

JetBlue will also be operating its Mint cabin service out of New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport for the season.

Aruba has been one of the hottest destinations in the Caribbean in the post-pandemic period, buoyed by a well-managed reopening that kicked off in the summer of 2020.

The JetBlue expansion is just part of a broader airlift boost for the island, one that includes American Airlines’ recently-launched expansion to Aruba out of the Charlotte market.

That’s accompanied by more flights on American from both Philadelphia and Miami to Aruba.

And another carrier, Spirit, will be running daily flights between For Lauderdale and Aruba for the winter season.
