For decades, the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel has been the most iconic place to stay in the country’s capital of Kingston. As the city grows as a tourism destination, the Pegasus is unveiling a brand-new look, repositioning itself as a new kind of “urban oasis.”

It’s all centered around a brand-new destination poolscape, the product of a $1 million renovation is bringing a “resort aesthetic” to the heart of Jamaica’s capital.

“We are thrilled to welcome the world to our all-new urban oasis,” said Nicola Madden-Greig, Group Director of Marketing and Sales. “Here, among lush, tropical landscaping and our expansive, shimmering pool, the hustle and bustle of the city seem a world away. Warm and attentive service, and a myriad of savory drink and dining options at our new and greatly expanded pool bar further make it impossible not to de-stress here.”

The new pool facilities at The Jamaica Pegasus feature amenities designed to enhance accessibility for all guests, including those with disabilities.

New ramps facilitate wheelchair access to the pool bar, surrounding gardens and the pool itself.

Pool depths were decreased to better accommodate families with novice swimmers.

And while the pool is shallower, the pool bar is actually much larger.

Now four times its original size, the new Jamaica Pegasus pool bar is further enhanced by a covered lounge area with seating for 80.

The pool bar/lounge also offers a menu of light bites and sharable dishes – salads, sandwiches, jerk and grill specialties and more.

Drink options include a broad selection of premium spirits, beers, wines and inventive craft cocktails aimed at elevating the mixology scene in Jamaica’s capital.

Rounding out the list of outdoor leisure enhancements, The Gardens at The Pegasus – a Zen Garden has also been expanded.

New spaces for meditation, reflection and yoga have been added, while the hotel’s jogging trail is also newly-upgraded.

New swings and benches also now dot the gardens for guests to enjoy the ultimate “me time” peace and tranquility.

“The Jamaica Pegasus has famously been known as the place to see and be seen in Kingston throughout its storied history,” noted Madden-Greig. “Now, with these extensive poolside renovations, that cachet extends to seeing and being seen in sunglasses and swimwear like never before.”
