There’s a New Boutique Hotel in St Martin

By: Alexander Britell - April 6, 2023

The French side of St Martin is one of the most fascinating and vibrant destinations in the Caribbean.

But navigating its hotel product isn’t particularly easy.

While there’s the outstanding Grand Case Beach Club, Belmond’s luxe La Samanna resort and the all-inclusive Secrets on Anse Marcel, beyond that, there are mostly smaller, independent tucked away hotels.

And now there’s another one, and it’s rather cool indeed.

It’s called Le Martin, and it’s a luxe boutique set in the lovely area of Cul de Sac (best known as the ferry point to get to Pinel Island).

There are just six rooms, all with unique names: Marius’ Room, Marcelle’s Room, Pierre’s Room and the like.

Each is different, with a unique aesthetic and a balcony or terrace.

Every room has a minibar, a Nespresso machine, charging points, Apple TVs and even the option of having both breakfast and massage treatments right in your room.

There’s also a beautiful pool, daily breakfast service and a sleek outdoor deck.

The best amenity, of course, is Pinel Island, accessed by regular ferry service a short walk or drive from the hotel, where you can dine at Karibuni or Yellow Beach and spend your days at one of the Caribbean’s best beaches.

Le Martin the essence of what makes French St Martin cool: the sophistication, the lack of pretentiousness, the playful French spirit.

And it’s a welcome addition to Cul de Sac, best known for another top boutique hotel, the Karibuni Lodge.
