GEMS Holdings Limited, whose hospitality portfolio is headlined by the Secret Bay and Fort Young hotels in Dominica, has named a new chief operating officer, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The company has tapped Ryan Didier to the role, according to Gregor Nassief, CEO of GEMS.

GEMS has also hired a new director of group sales, marketing and communications:  Samantha Doctrové Letang.

“We’re delighted  to have Ryan and Samantha join GEMS,” said Gregor Nassief, CEO of GEMS. “Both Ryan and Samantha bring unique talents and valuable experience, and I know they’re going to be instrumental in paving the way for the company’s future.”

Didier has more than 20 years’ experience in senior management, including at Ross University School of Medicine and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

“I am excited to be part of the GEMS family and look forward to working on our exciting expansion plans and new product ideas for the future,” said Didier.

Letang comes to the company from the Discover Dominica Authority, where she most recently served as festival and events manager.

“GEMS has cemented itself as a strong tourism and hospitality brand, and it has had an important impact in Dominica and further afield,” said Doctrové Letang.  “With increased attention on Dominica and our facilities, GEMS continues to be a leader by providing excellent customer service and value, and affording a truly transformative experience at its properties.
