Tru by Hilton Just Opened Its First Hotel in Mexico

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 19, 2023

Hilton’s new Tru by Hilton brand has opened its first-ever hotel in Mexico.

The new Tru by Hilton Monterrey Fundidora has 120 rooms in the heart of the city center of Fundidora.

The hotel is owned and managed by Hotels BL De Mexico.

“The opening of Tru by Hilton Monterrey Fundidora is a testament to the brand’s tremendous growth and its ability to meet our guests’ evolving needs in destinations they want to travel,” said Andrew Harp, brand leader for Tru by Hilton. “Since opening our first property in the Caribbean and Latin America in early 2022, we have been looking forward to expanding our presence to give guests a truly unique hotel stay.”

Tru by Hilton has a large lobby called The Zone, with areas for working, playing and lounging, along with the brand’s signature free “Top It” breakfast bar.

The property also has a 24-7 market called “Eat & Sip”, along with a state-of-the-art fitness center.

“As we expand Tru’s footprint in the Caribbean and Latin America, we are grateful to partner with  experienced owners to introduce this vibrant brand in sought-after markets to meet the demand of the global traveler,” said Juan Corvinos, senior vice president of development, architecture and construction, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton. “We are excited to welcome guests to Tru by Hilton Monterrey Fundidora.”

The Tru by HIton brand is opening its first property on a Caribbean island next year, with the planned Tru by Hilton Punta Cana Airport.

The hotel is part of the Hilton Honors loyalty program.

The Tru by HIlton is the second major branded hotel to open in Monterrey in the last year, following last summer’s debut of the city’s first AC Hotel by Marriott.
