Luxury Cruise Line Atlas Ocean Voyages Names New CEO

Luxury cruise line Atlas Ocean Voyages has named a new president and chief executive officer, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The company has tapped James Rodriguez to the position, it announced this week. 

Rodriguez comes to Atlas from Oceania Cruises, where he served as executive vice president of sales and marketing.

 “James’ entrepreneurial experience in helping build and market successful brands will be a key advantage as we continue to introduce our new brand to the North American market,” said Mário Ferreira, Chairman of Mystic Invest Holdings, parent company of Atlas Ocean Voyages. “James has an unwavering passion for the cruise industry and a reputation for being a champion of travel advisors. We are confident that, under James’ leadership, Atlas Ocean Voyages will be the best small luxury expeditions cruise line in short order.”

The small-ship, luxury expedition cruise line, which has a number of voyages in the Caribbean region, is set to launch a new ship in November: World Traveller. 

That comes after Atlas debuted its new World Navigator ship in August 2021. 

Three more sister ships are joining the company’s fleet through 2024.
