JetBlue Just Added New Daily Flights to Guatemala
The stress of Antigua. The pupusas. The rum. Guatemala is a rich, vibrant destination (one that has a small Caribbean coastline of its own), and it just got easier to visit.
JetBlue has kicked off its new route between Fort Lauderdale and Guatemala City, with new daily nonstop service.
While Guatemala City has a quietly solid food scene, it’s really the nearby city of Antigua that is the country’s travel gem.
The centuries-old city has colorful colonial streets, historic boutique hotels, a thriving arts movement and outstanding places to eat.
It’s the place we’d recommend if you’re considering a trip to Guatemala, and worth the trip. (We love the Casa Santo Domingo if you’re planning a getaway)
Of course, there’s one other place we strongly recommend if you want a true adventure: Francis Ford Coppola’s La Lancha, set above Lake Peten Itza. (Coppola has several hotels in the wider region, including the lovely Blancaneaux Lodge and Turtle Inn in Belize).
So what about prices? Roundtrips start at around $195 right now for the tow hour and 40 minute flight, according to Google Flights data.
