The Dominican Republic has yet again topped its pre-pandemic tourism arrival numbers — and the month isn’t even over yet.
The country has already exceeded 390,000 tourists in February, a 210 percent jump over the same month in 2021 and 1 percent more than the same month in 2019.
“The recovery of tourism is a worldwide success story,” said Dominican Republic Tourism Minister David Collado, who said the country’s Ministry of Tourism had “intensified” its promotional efforts in a bid to “ensure that more foreign visitors continue to arrive.”
The Dominican Republic has revealed a staled goal of welcoming more than 7 million tourists in 2022.
In January, the country reported more than 500,000 travelers.
